Most of Part-66 Prep is free, and it will stay that way. Every module of every licence category has a free timed paper 1 at the real size, free quick practice with an explanation after each answer, and every category has a free diagnostic. Pro is for people who want more: nine more papers per module, drills on the sub-modules they keep missing, the mixed-module paper and every study note.
This page explains exactly what you get for free, what Pro adds, how billing and access work, and when paying is not worth it. Part-66 Prep is an independent study aid. We are not EASA, the UK CAA, a national authority or a Part-147 training organisation, we don't book exams and we don't issue certificates of recognition.
What is free and what Pro adds

The free tier is enough to find out where you stand on any module. Take the free B1.1 diagnostic or the B2 diagnostic, then sit paper 1 for the module you are booked on, for example Module 7 paper 1 or Module 10 paper 1. If you score well above 75% on paper 1 and in quick practice, you may not need Pro for that module at all.
The three plans
| Plan | Price | Works out at | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cram week | £6.99 per week | about £1.00 a day | A module exam in the next few days |
| Monthly | £11.99 per month | about £0.39 a day | One or two modules over a few weeks |
| 3 months | £22.99 every 3 months | about £0.25 a day | A run of modules, or study alongside a full-time job |
All three plans give the same Pro access. The only difference is how long each billing period lasts and how much you pay per day. Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies.
Which plan should you choose?
Think about how many modules you have left and how many weeks you have before each sitting.
- One module, exam within a week: the weekly plan is the cheapest way to sit all ten papers for that module and drill the sub-modules you miss. Cancel after the exam.
- One or two modules over a month: the monthly plan suits the usual pattern of a module every few weeks, which is how most people self-studying for a B1 or B2 licence work through the list.
- Many modules this term: if you are working through Modules 1 to 10 alongside your job, or a Part-147 course is pushing you through modules quickly, the three-month plan has the lowest cost per day.
Key fact: Under EASA rules you can sit a module a maximum of three times in any 12 months (EASA Part-66 FAQs), and under UK CAA rules three times in a row before a one-year wait. A failed sitting also means 90 days before you can retake. A few pounds of practice before you book is cheap compared with losing an attempt.
What a paper looks like
Each paper copies the format in Appendix II to Part-66, as replaced for the EU by Regulation (EU) 2023/989 and kept in its earlier form in UK Part-66:
- three answer options, one correct;
- about 75 seconds per question, so a 32-question Module 10 paper for category A runs 40 minutes and an 80-question Module 7 paper for B1 runs 100 minutes;
- a 75% pass mark and no negative marking;
- questions spread across the sub-modules in proportion to the official guidance, so a Module 3 paper isn't all Ohm's law.
On the start screen you choose EASA or UK CAA rules and the paper takes that size. For example, Module 9 Human Factors is 28 questions in 35 minutes under EASA rules and 20 questions in 25 minutes (plus one essay) under UK CAA rules. The site marks the multiple-choice part; it tells you how many essays the real paper has, and the app has an essay coach for practising them.
After you submit, you see your score against the pass mark, your score by sub-module with the weakest first, and every question with the explanation and the syllabus reference. Paper 1 is free so you can try all of this before you pay. See every module's sizes on the Part-66 modules hub.
How billing works
When you choose a plan, you go to a secure Stripe Checkout page. Stripe is the payment processor. It handles your card details, and we never see or store your card number. Once payment is confirmed, Stripe sends you back to the site and you are signed in with the email address you entered at checkout.
The plans are subscriptions. Each renews at the end of its period and charges the same card until you cancel, so you won't lose access in the middle of your revision. Stripe sends a receipt by email for every payment.
Paying from outside the UK
Many Part-66 candidates are in Ireland, Malta, Poland, Lithuania, Portugal and the rest of the EASA system, or working abroad. You can pay from anywhere with a card. The price is charged in pounds; if your card is in euros or another currency, your card issuer converts it and may add a foreign transaction fee. The amount in your own currency appears on your card statement.
Signing in on another device
There is no password. On a new phone or computer, go to sign in and enter the same email address you used at checkout. We send you a one-time sign-in link; open it and Pro is available on that device. Your subscription follows your email, not your device. Practice scores are saved in each browser, so each device keeps its own score history.
Cancelling, failed payments and refunds
How to cancel
Go to your account and choose the option to manage billing. This opens the Stripe billing portal, where you can cancel in one click. You keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you won't be charged again. The portal is also where you change your card, switch plans or download invoices.
If a renewal payment fails
If your card is declined at renewal, Stripe retries the payment and emails you to update your card. Pro stays on for a short grace period of three days while the payment is retried. If the payment still fails after that, Pro stops until you subscribe again. Your account page shows when this has happened.
Refunds and your right to cancel
Pro is digital content that starts as soon as you pay. At checkout you ask for access to start straight away, so the 14-day right to cancel under UK and EU consumer law ends once you use Pro. If you subscribe and then don't use Pro at all, email us within 14 days and we'll refund you in full. We also refund a charge if you were billed after cancelling, billed twice, or the service didn't work. Your statutory rights for faulty digital content are not affected. The full rules are in our terms.
No pass guarantee, and no past papers
We don't offer a pass guarantee. Exam-style papers show you where you stand and help you learn the syllabus, but your result depends on your study, your training and the exam on the day. Promising a pass would mean promising something we can't control.
We also don't sell past papers, because none are published. EASA and the UK CAA keep examination questions secure, and using recalled questions is not something any honest bank should offer you. Every question on this site is original, written from the Appendix I syllabus and public-domain references such as the FAA maintenance technician handbooks, and every answer carries a syllabus reference. Be wary of any bank sold as the real thing: four-option questions and pre-2024 paper sizes are a giveaway that it was not built for the current exams.
Is Pro worth it for you?
Pro is worth paying for when you need more than one paper's worth of practice on a module.
When Pro is worth it
- The big modules. Module 7 for B1 is 80 questions plus two essays, Module 11A for B1.1 is 140 questions, Module 13 for B2 is 188 questions under EASA rules. One free paper is not enough exposure for papers that size.
- You failed a module and have 90 days to wait. Ten papers and drills on your weak sub-modules are a structured way to use the time.
- You are self-studying. Without a Part-147 course you have no mock exams except the ones you find. Papers sized for your category and authority are the closest thing to the real sitting.
- You are doing several modules. One plan covers all of them, so the cost per module drops quickly.
When Pro may not be worth it
- You score well on paper 1 and quick practice. If you are consistently above 85% on the free paper for a module, you may be ready already.
- Your Part-147 course already gives you plenty of progress tests. Use our free paper as a cross-check and save your money.
- You only want to read notes. The free exam guides and first notes of every module may be enough. Start with the EASA exam guide, the UK CAA exam guide and licence categories.
Web and app
The Part-66 Prep app for iPhone and Android has the same questions, papers and notes, plus a module board, essay coach, units drill and an attempt tracker that works out your next allowed sitting date. Web Pro and app Pro are separate purchases for now: web Pro is billed by Stripe and follows your email, app Pro is billed through your app store account. If you mainly study at a desk, use the web; if you study on breaks at work, the app works offline.
How to start
- Take the free diagnostic for your category, for example B1.1, B1.3, B2 or category A.
- Open the module you are booked on and do the free quick practice, then sit paper 1 against the clock.
- Read the free first note for that module, such as Module 3 electron theory or Module 9 human factors.
- If you want the other nine papers and sub-module drills, choose a plan above. You can cancel whenever you like.
Frequently asked questions
+Does Pro cover one module or all of them?
One Pro plan covers every module and every category on the site: Modules 1 to 17 for A, B1.1, B1.2, B1.3, B2, B2L and B3, under both EASA and UK CAA paper sizes. You don't pay per module.
+Do the plans renew automatically?
Yes. All three plans renew at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page, and you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
+How do I sign in after I pay?
Go to the sign-in page and enter the email address you used at checkout. We email you a one-time link; open it and Pro is restored on that device. There is no password.
+Are prices in pounds? Can I pay from the EU?
Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where it applies. You can pay from anywhere with a card; if your card is in euros or another currency, your card issuer converts the amount at its own rate.
+Can I get a refund?
Pro starts as soon as you pay. If you subscribe and don't use it, email us within 14 days for a full refund. If you were charged after cancelling, charged twice, or the service didn't work, we refund that charge too.
+Do you offer a pass guarantee?
No. Practice papers show you where you stand and teach you the syllabus, but the result depends on your study and on the exam on the day. We prefer to be honest about that rather than promise something we can't control.
+Are these real Part-66 past papers?
No. EASA and the UK CAA don't publish past papers, and exam questions must be kept secure. Our papers are original exam-style papers written from the Appendix I syllabus, sized and timed like the real module exams.
+Is Pro on the website the same as Pro in the app?
The questions, papers and notes are the same. Web Pro is billed by Stripe and follows your email; app Pro is billed by Apple or Google. They are separate purchases for now, so buy where you study most.
