Exam-day checklist

  • Book each module exam with a Part-147 approved training organisation or your competent authority's exam centre (UK CAA or your EASA member-state authority).
  • Bring passport or national ID card, and any booking confirmation the exam centre asks for.
  • You will be asked to confirm in writing how many times you have attempted this module in the last 12 months.
  • Check with the exam centre which items are allowed (calculator, drawing instruments). Phones, notes and talking are not allowed; proven cheating means a 12-month ban from all exams.
  • Multiple choice: 3 options, one correct, about 75 seconds per question, pass mark 75%, no negative marking.
  • Essays (20 minutes each, 75% of key points): EASA - Module 7 only (2 essays, +40 min); UK CAA - Modules 7, 9 and 10.
  • If you fail: wait 90 days before a retake (30 days after a tailored Part-147 retraining course). EASA: max 3 attempts in 12 months. UK CAA: 3 consecutive attempts, then a 1-year wait.
  • Keep every certificate of recognition: module passes count for a licence application for 10 years.
